What Millet Can Bring to Your Weight Loss

Your weight loss efforts could be enhanced by knowing your grains, and one that will definitely bring you great taste, great fiber, and protein, is millet.  Grown in many parts of the world now, millet was native to Africa and Asia, and is an ancient food.  The more our ancestors ate something, the more we can digest it.

This food was often seen in the 1960's and 1970's in many grocery stores, but over the years, the sugar cereal revolution has killed the millet.  You can look for it in health food stores, and organic grocery spots.
It comes in a puffed version, and a raw form.  You can eat the puffed version with some milk, and you will have an excellent protein and fiber source.  It is truly something that will fill you up.

You can, use the raw version, and cook it like you would with rice.  Substitute your rice with millet, and watch the pounds fall away.  You can make it easily in a rice cooker, and one cup dry, will make 3 cups cooked.  Put a cup of millet in your rice cooker, and 3 cups of water, and set it to delay and soak all day.  Then, when you return, you have some great cooked millet.

You can make a version of the millet, with some seasonings, like dry mustard, garlic or ginger, and make a mashed potato version.  Simply use all your cooked millet, and add some seasonings, and your coconut oil to cream it up, and you have a mashed potato that is simply divine!

Sugar Brain

Your sweet tooth is more than on your taste buds, as you may be craving a chocolate bar, a sweet roll, or something that you used to always eat as a treat.  It is dangerous to have any of this kind of thing near your kitchen, desk or your person when you are beginning a new weight loss plan.  The first few weeks, like when you quit smoking, is a really hard time, because you are dedicated to your old ways, and one would have been sugars and starches.

Seeing the goody, and then finding it completely irresistible is very common.  There are many people who find the sugar habit very hard to kick.  You are twice as likely to be overweight if you love cookies, cake or sweet items.  Your new life will evolve into not looking for the sweet in your food, but the flavor.  It will take some time, but you can do it!

So, if you are feeling guilty because you gave into a sweet, let it go.  Just start over from right now, and make it count.  The more you stay away from the sugar and starches, the less you will be hungry.  The less you will be so tempted, and the more you will enjoy your life without sugar.  The gift is yours, if you decide to take it!

The Great Vitamin Debate

The best food solutions for you, are natural choices.  If you add vitamins and minerals to your diet, beware of the cheaper options.  You really only need an organic multi-vitamin, and that is it.  You are loading your body with more chemicals and toxins when you over do it.

The key to weight loss is to eat really great food and ensure it is colorful.  When I say this, bright colored food, is usually high in vitamins and minerals.  If it has a brown or a tan color, it is a protein, or has some form of good fats for your cellular structure.  You need to ensure that only 10-20% of your diet is brown.

When you eat a tomato, you are getting lutein.  When you eat some berries, you are getting a mix of Vitamin C and other Anti-oxidants.  So, stay focused on your one ingredient items, stay away from sugar, and keep your food colorful!

Lose Weight with Breakfast

Are you skipping breakfast?  This is great step to change, as it will boost your metabolism by 50%!  It is a great way to lose weight, as it gives your very hungry body, a way to say, yes, food is here, energy is great, and we can lose some of this stored stuff we have around here.

It is like this, when you have a house full of stuff, and you do not need all the items you have, you end up donating, giving things away, and when more is coming in, you are running out of room.  You end up giving more away, and these are good things too!  Lucky are those garage sale visitors!

But, when items are not coming in, and there is not new stuff coming in, you keep it, store it, and will not let it go.  When you get something new, you keep it even more.  It does not get donated, it gets stored.  It stays hidden in the house, even though you have 13 fishing poles, you decide you can add a 14th pole, as when will you come across another?

The metabolic rate in your brain and hormone system works the same way.  So, little meals, all day long, with healthy one ingredient items will be great for your lifestyle.  You will be donating all that fat to your liver very soon!

Salt is Not the problem

Salt has been getting a bad rap over the years, and most of it is justified, but true information has not been presented.  Here are the salty facts, and you will love this information.

First, you do not have to give up your salt

What?!  Why is this true?  While it is true you will have to give up your table salt, that is tiny and very white, you should know there is a healthier option out there.  It is called Gray Celtic Sea Salt.  Not full of fillers, and anti-caking ingredients, it will ensure your liver is not getting any bad chemicals to deal with.

The regular table salt that we have grown used to, is really the enemy.  This salt, which is whitened by chemicals, additives and preservatives, has become our enemy.  The natural beauty of salt was taken from us in the 1950's, and since then, we have been adding it to our food on the table, in the preservatives we use, and in our baking and cooking.

If you want to salt something, go ahead, but make sure it is natural gray sea salt.  You can find it here!

Why Weight Loss Starts With Your Liver

The trick is out!  If you understand how your liver works, you are going to lose weight!  It is an amazing organ in your body, and contributes to all things good for you, including removing stored and eaten fat.  So, if you let it do those things, it will be your power house in the weight loss battle.

Start by Eating One Ingredients

If you decide to really tackle this problem, start with reading labels.  Shop with purpose, and do something new, only buy items that have one ingredient in them.  Say, apples, feta cheese, lemons, a lime, a pepper,a red onion, bibb lettuce, natural pepper cheese, some natural tea, and some organic eggs.  Buy organic, and buy only what you can eat today or tomorrow.  Take a hand cart, and do not be tempted to buy for Tuesday if it is Saturday.  Then, take your items, with no chemicals or preservatives in them-remember read the labels!-and make a nice dinner for yourself.  No frozen food, unless it is one ingredient.  No shelf food, unless one ingredient.

Why One Ingredient

It would be unfair of me not to explain why the liver discussion is here, and why are we suggesting one ingredient?  It is really because you are taking the chemicals out of your food intake.  It takes some time, but this is natural, and healthy eating.  You are getting nutrition for the first time in a long time, most likely, so the change to fresh and valuable food can be shock to your system, mentally and physically.  You will drop weight initially quickly, as your sodium levels will go down, and you will enjoy the great new energy you feel.  The chemicals and preservatives gone, you are letting your liver work on fat you eat, and the fat you have stored.

Your liver works like this, it is a priority minded organ, chemicals first, new fat next and stored fat last.  It is the organ that removes toxins, first priority, then new ingested fat, second priority, and stored fat, last in the priority schedule.  Remove the first part of this equation, and eat healthy one ingredient item foods, your liver is going to work overtime removing fat like mad.

If this is the first you are hearing of this, I am proud to have been the messenger. Stick with your plan, and do this.  Act today!

Great Cheese Comes from a Brick

The way to lose weight, is to not eat chemicals.  It is really important, because your liver is the organ that will help you lose weight, but removing stored fat.  The thing is, your liver is the organ that cleans your body of chemicals and toxins as well.  When you eat chemicals, and toxins, you are ensuring that your liver will never work on your stored fat.  It is easy to mess this up with just one day of diet pop.

So, here is a great tip for you, and one you are going to love!  You can eat cheese, yes lovely creamy cheese, just as long as it is natural cheese.  Buy the kind that is not shredded, not sliced, or any cubes.  The thing is, these easy cheese options are all full of anti-caking chemicals.  Imagine this, you take some cheese, and shred it at the factory.  Put it in packaging, and then ship it to the store.  By the time it would get there, it would be hard, brittle, or giant ball of combined shreds,  and maybe moldy.  The anti-caking ingredients make sure it takes some storage time.  This is really bad for you.

So, buy a nice shredding plate, a knife, and buy some great natural cheese.  Your belly will thank you!
