What Millet Can Bring to Your Weight Loss

Your weight loss efforts could be enhanced by knowing your grains, and one that will definitely bring you great taste, great fiber, and protein, is millet.  Grown in many parts of the world now, millet was native to Africa and Asia, and is an ancient food.  The more our ancestors ate something, the more we can digest it.

This food was often seen in the 1960's and 1970's in many grocery stores, but over the years, the sugar cereal revolution has killed the millet.  You can look for it in health food stores, and organic grocery spots.
It comes in a puffed version, and a raw form.  You can eat the puffed version with some milk, and you will have an excellent protein and fiber source.  It is truly something that will fill you up.

You can, use the raw version, and cook it like you would with rice.  Substitute your rice with millet, and watch the pounds fall away.  You can make it easily in a rice cooker, and one cup dry, will make 3 cups cooked.  Put a cup of millet in your rice cooker, and 3 cups of water, and set it to delay and soak all day.  Then, when you return, you have some great cooked millet.

You can make a version of the millet, with some seasonings, like dry mustard, garlic or ginger, and make a mashed potato version.  Simply use all your cooked millet, and add some seasonings, and your coconut oil to cream it up, and you have a mashed potato that is simply divine!
