It is more than the fact that your pants fit tight, or that you feel tired in the morning, or that you are losing weight to become healthier. It is more than you want to be there for your kids when they are grown, and you are looking to stop the cycle of high blood pressure and diabetes. There is more to your weight loss initiative.
You really need to remember the one moment in time, where you decided to envision yourself thin. You need to boost your resolve with your first initial step. It is the most powerful reason for you to continue your weight loss. I can remember why it worked for my Dad. Here is his story.
My Dad was always around 30 to 40 pounds overweight. He was a happy guy, working and doing everything he could for his family. He has been a quiet and strong force in our family. He never asked for much, and always gave up a lot for us all. There are 7 kids in my family, so someone had to be the quiet one. Someone had to be the one to give up things, and go with the flow. That is Dad!
Then, when my Grandpa died, there was a shift in Dad. You could see how it wore on him. He started to fear for his continued health. I had already helped him with his smoking, and encouraged him to quit the cigarettes earlier in this period of time. He did quit smoking, and has really been an open minded person to new and innovative reasons to be a new person in his new lifestyle. The smoker, excess eater, and habitual beer drinker was not working for him. He knew it, and it made him sad.
He decided to quit smoking. He did it. He then lost his own Dad, and went to the funeral, and came back a quiet and decided person. He used that moment. He eventually decided to stop drinking diet pop. He decided to quit beer. He decided to eat healthier. He did all of this on the emotion of his Dad's death. He knew that this was a clear and motivated moment in time.
He since has lost the weight. He eats very healthy. He exercises by swimming. He has become a happy guy, by finding new outlets and hobbies that follow his healthy lifestyle. He has made new and open minded decisions, and always asks me what will be a new thing to think about. Last time we spoke about the subject, I told him, watch your sodium, your salt. He took the advice to heart, and has dropped his sodium levels too. He commented that he saw his weight drop with the reduction in salt.
You see, you can not really lose weight unless you find your moment. You need to envision what is your moment in time. There is a reason you are reading this. Share your moment with the world. Comment on this below. It will remain a piece of time, that can power your weight loss forward.
You need to focus on that moment, because you are starting life out anew. Do not stay proud, or hide behind excuses. You are going to have to change your ways. Be sure to keep the reason why you are bold enough to change. You are amazing, never forget your power and strength!
